I used a reference photo for this portrait, but about halfway through you can see me start to alter the original portrait to fit my style. This portrait combines a few different style elements from my sustainable mixed media art practice, including using a grey-green acrylic paint to give the background an antique style. That color really helped make the skin tones look more pronounced. This is the first portrait I have drawn in this color scheme, but I really liked it so I will probably do more like this soon.
